Terms of Service for Avolt Resume Builder

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Avolt Resume Builder (“Avolt Resume Builder,” “the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), operated by MB Janus Digital.
By accessing or using Avolt Resume Builder, users agree to these Terms. Users who do not agree to these Terms should not use the App.
1. Description of the App
Avolt Resume Builder is a resume-building app that operates within OpenAI’s ChatGPT platform. The App allows users to describe professional experience in conversation or upload an existing resume, generate a resume based on that information, and download the completed resume.
The App is intended for resume creation, resume editing, formatting, and career-document assistance only. It does not submit job applications, communicate with employers, provide recruiting services, verify employment history, perform background checks, or guarantee employment outcomes.
2. Scope of These Terms
These Terms apply to use of Avolt Resume Builder and related websites or pages operated for the App, including:

Because the App runs inside ChatGPT, use of ChatGPT is also subject to OpenAI’s terms, policies, and platform rules.
3. Eligibility
Users must be legally permitted to use ChatGPT and any connected services required to access or use the App.
By using Avolt Resume Builder, users represent that they meet any minimum age, account, and eligibility requirements that apply to ChatGPT and the services used with the App.
4. Acceptable Use
Users may use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the operation of the App or other users.
Users must not:
use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, misleading, or harmful purposes;
submit false, deceptive, infringing, or unlawful content;
impersonate another person or misrepresent qualifications, employment history, credentials, or achievements;
use the App to create resumes, documents, or materials for fraudulent job applications;
attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or related systems;
interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality;
submit content that users do not have the right to use;
use the App in a way that violates OpenAI’s policies or applicable law.
We may suspend or restrict access to the App if we reasonably believe these Terms are being violated or the App is being misused.
5. Resume and Career Disclaimer
Avolt Resume Builder provides resume generation, editing, formatting, and career-document assistance for informational and convenience purposes only.
The App does not provide legal, employment, recruiting, financial, immigration, or professional career advice. Resume outputs are generated based on information provided by users and may require review, correction, and customization before use.
Users are responsible for reviewing all resume content before submitting it to employers, recruiters, job platforms, or other third parties.
6. No Employment Guarantee
Avolt Resume Builder does not guarantee job interviews, job offers, hiring outcomes, salary outcomes, recruiter responses, or application success.
Resume quality, application results, and hiring decisions depend on many factors outside the App’s control, including user qualifications, job market conditions, employer requirements, applicant volume, and recruiter or employer discretion.
7. Accuracy of Results
Resumes, bullet points, summaries, formatting, and other outputs generated by the App may not always be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for every job application.
Users are responsible for checking all generated content for accuracy, truthfulness, grammar, formatting, dates, job titles, company names, achievements, metrics, and other resume details before downloading or using the resume.
8. User Content
Users may submit content to the App, including professional experience, employment history, education, skills, certifications, achievements, career goals, job descriptions, uploaded resumes, and other information provided for resume creation or editing (“User Content”).
Users retain their rights in User Content. Users grant us a non-exclusive license to use, host, store, process, generate, format, display, and provide User Content only as needed to operate and provide the App.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the right to submit User Content and that User Content is accurate, lawful, and does not violate the rights of any third party.
9. Generated Resume Outputs
The App may generate resume drafts, rewritten bullet points, professional summaries, skills sections, formatting suggestions, and downloadable resume files based on User Content.
To the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to these Terms, users may use generated resume outputs for personal job-search, career, and professional purposes.
Users are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying generated outputs before use.
10. Intellectual Property
The App, including its branding, software, design, workflows, website materials, and related content, is owned by MB Janus Digital or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Users may use the App for personal, lawful use. Users may not copy, reproduce, sell, resell, sublicense, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit the App or its content except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
11. Third-Party Services
Avolt Resume Builder operates within OpenAI’s ChatGPT environment and may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, storage, infrastructure, logging, analytics, file generation, and model processing.
We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, including ChatGPT itself or third-party providers. Use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.
12. Privacy
Use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is processed in connection with the App.
13. Availability and Changes to the App
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App from time to time.
We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
14. Termination
Users may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms, misused the App, submitted unlawful or harmful content, or created risk for the App, our systems, third-party services, or other users.
15. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We make no warranties, express or implied, about the App, including warranties of availability, accuracy, reliability, non-infringement, fitness for a particular purpose, resume quality, or job-search outcomes.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MB Janus Digital will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the App.
This includes damages related to employment outcomes, job applications, lost opportunities, lost profits, lost data, resume errors, employer decisions, or reliance on generated outputs.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If these Terms are updated, the revised version will be posted with a new effective date.
Continued use of the App after updated Terms become effective means that the updated Terms apply.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
